Techmite

Techmites are small robots used by Necromunda's Ironhead Squat Prospectors. It is unknown if these are truly a indigenous Squat design, or something the Ironheads brought off from Necromunda itself. They come in three distinct varieties.

Techmite Autoveyor[edit]

He is just a little guy.

The machines are loaded with multi-use tools, well-suited to snooping out credits and valuable scrap from nooks and crannies, and are used by Ironhead Claim Jumpers to help them find unstaked mining sites and potential plunder in the Hive World's Ash Wastes.

Techmite Autoveyors are often treated like pets by their Claim Jumper owners and none worthy of the title would ever set foot in the Ash Wastes without their trusty scuttling machine-familiars.

Crunch[edit]

Autoveyors can only be taken alongside their Claim Jumper Owners as hangers-on. They are...not good fighters as one can expect just from looking at them. T3, one wound and one attack. But than again, it is not meant to fight in the first place and if it is forced to fight, than something terrible has gone wrong. Though not worth any value in combat, what they can do is open loot caskets and get not only creds but also re-roll the result of what's inside that casket.

Techmite Occuli[edit]

He is just a little flyin guy.

Techmite Occulis are the flybots of the family. If their name is any indication, Occulis are most likely a form surveillance spybots. They are not armed with anything interesting outside of two manipulator arms, so don't expect them to do much outside of being a flying coffe cup holder.

So far, the only one that has an Occuli as a pet is Squat Bounty Hunter Urson Grimjarl. Given that he is a sniper, having a flying camera acting as a spotter makes sense. Luckily enough, though somewhat uncharacteristically for a dwarf, Urson was clearly willing to share, as Occulis can now also be taken as an upgrade to the Ironhead Squat Trikes.

Crunch[edit]

Techmite Occulis are a support unit for Urson Grimjarl. When he is deployed, this little bot will spawn 3" near him. The flybot provides him the ability to reduce any negative to hit modifiers due to cover by 1 if it is within 6" of an enemy model under the ability called Target Paint. Another ability is Scout Drone, which can range further than other Exotic Beasts. The bot must remain within 18" rather than your typical 3". The Occuli can defend itself, however, it is not going to do much as its Wall-E hands are only S2, D1.

Techmite Exovator[edit]

He is just a little fightin guy.

Techmite Exovators are a more heavy-duty variant and is also much faster than the Autoveyor. Judging by its name, the Exovator...excavates things. It travels around on a wheel and track-system, making it pretty maneuvrable on nearly all types of terrain.

As aforementioned, it is quite the fighter. Whilst the other Techmites are just there for support, the Exovator can kick some serious ass on their own. A miniature Fusion Cutter and a small Breaching Augur could rip apart armour as it can, rocks. So not a little robot to be trifled with. At first, only one Exovator was seen as a pet for Squat Bounty Hunter Orrin Grimjarl, though they were later made avalible for Exo-Kyn.

Crunch[edit]

Unfortunately, due to the 'genius' of GW, the rules for the Exocator isn't even included in the Ironhead Prospector's rulebook, it is only found on the data cards you get from the Orrin Grimjaw single-pack model. Why GW thought that was a good idea, who knows?

As far as crunch goes, that thing is a fighter, as aforementioned. Its Fusion Cutter is a S5, AP-2 weapon with a 4-8" range, whilst the Drill is S3. A great support melee unit for Orrin that will defend him from assaulting melee units. Unfortunately...that is all we have thanks to GW's incompetence. Feel free to post the full rules here if you got the data cards.
