Talk:Codex - Space Wolves Angry Furry Edition

Monthly Updates edit

  • Starting from Feburary updates for this page will be monthly, all changes should be made between the last day of the month and the first two days of the next month.
The montly updating is to make it easier to play with the codex, it´s a bother to have to check the codex every time you want to play a game.
Wording updates don´t have to be montly and can and should be updated whenever bad wording/writing is found. Angry Pirate (talk) 20:39, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Special Rules edit

Mark of the wulfen edit

  • Any chance for mark of the wulfen to return in the angry codex? It was a fun fluffy and not too strong option for a sargant in a skyclaw pack or gray hunters or bloodclaws.
  • I was planning on making a detachment for the lost great company which gave all characters a random number of bonus attacks (D3 most likely) or Rampage or switch all non-independent characters attack characteristic with 1D6 and then giving them rending and the inability to use weapons. Would that be good enough? (fluff would be that the great company has suffered grievous mutations in the warp, it has caused their geneflaws to run rampant especially among the eldest who already suffered from it quite a lot previously)
  • In terms of fluff that is splendid. A whole detatchment of it would be quite nice. Perhaps also have a squad upgrade that gives them d3 attacks and rending without weapon usage to symbolise a group of particularly Gene mutated wolves. However, having it as an option for a squad leader upgrade is still nice in itself. A leader chosen for his closeness to the wulven is possible even outside of the one lost company. I fully approve a detatchment though.
  • I´ll hold off on making the formation because of the pictures of the Wulfen which have recently surfaced. As a note I don´t think the new codex release will make much of an impact on the Angry Wolves. Angry Pirate (talk) 20:20, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
  • For ya'alls pleasure, here's the stats for the Wulfen:
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv Unit Type Composition
Wulfen Six Guardsmen pts 4 2 5 4 2 5 3 8 4+ Infantry (C) 1

  • Wargear:
    • CC Weapons.
  • Special Rules:
    • Acute Senses.
    • ATSKNF.
    • Bounding Leap: Can charge and run in the same turn.
    • Bulky.
    • Counterattack.
    • Curse of the Wulfen: Gives some kind of bonus to Wolves close to them.
    • Death Frenzy: Attacks on the Initiative Step it died on; means it can attack twice.
    • Feel No Pain.
    • Rage.

Can take some sort of Assault Grenades, and SS/THs (20 pt), AP 2 Lightning Claws (12 pt) or S +3 AP 2 Power Axe (8 pt).

'Cause who likes Thunderwolf Cavalry.

Formations and Detachments edit

  • The formation from the Space Wolves codex isn't under the Angry Space Wolves formation? Is there a reason for this?

I personally liked this formation quite a bit, especially after you edited meltaguns to no longer having melta. This formation makes sure that I don't have to bring a squad of Long Fangs with lascannons in every single battle. This is rarely enough since they are S7 AP1 O lance.

The flier is absolutely necessary for me in 90% of my battles.

I looked over all the formations again, and there are quite a few things which is very Space Marine like and not Space Wolf like.

The only "main formation" we can take is Combined Arms or the big Space Wolf formation (which sucks). That means max. 2 HQ's, max 3 Elite.

Even the super fun elite space wolf formation from Champions of Fenris where Space Wolf players can take elites instead of troops is gone. Why? It's just not cool

  • Automatically bringing in a unit every turn has nothing to do with Space Wolves, it´s a special rule which has been stolen from the Tau. I don´t think SWs should have access to a Tau special rule.

I appreciate you writing here because it makes it much easier to debate, but I would appreciate if you could reword your Melta/Long fang arguement or write it on Facebook in our native language.

The Stormfang can be taken in the Ice Wyrm formation, the Stormwolf can be taken as a Dedicated Transport.

Space Wolves ARE Space Marines. I get that Fenris is cold but you aren´t that unique a snowflake. I think it makes perfect sense that you share formations and units with Space Marines.

You can take as many HQ choices as you want, there is no limit to the amount of Wise Councils you can include in your army list. You can make a battleforged army list consisting entirely of Rune Priests, Wolf Priests and Iron Priests.

Lone Wolves don´t take up Elites choices in a CAD and take Dreadnoughts in Squadrons of up to 3. Beyond that you take multiple CADs. Every other angry codex (except Angry Eldar) has to bring 2 Troops per 3 Elites choices. Dreadnoughts not being included in the Great Company was just a bummer on my part, I simply forgot.

The big space wolf formation must certainly does not suck. The CAD which is the basis gives Troops Objective Secured, the Space Wolves Great Company also gives Elites (and their transports), Fast Attack units (and their transports) and Heavy Support units (and their transports) objective secured. Oh and then you also get the Fear special rule. How does getting Fear and Objective Secured on Elites, Fast Attack choices and Heavy Support choices suck?

As for the Kingsguard I didn´t like the original formations and I couldn´t figure out anything clever. If you want to make some sort of wacky army just ask your opponent to play an Unbound game, chances are if your opponent lets you play a Fan Dex then he´ll probably also allow you to play Unbound as long as you aren´t playing something entirely obnoxious. PS you should make a profile and put 3 of these: ~ after your post. Or just - Kitty after your post. Angry Pirate (talk) 17:48, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

Damocles Command Rhino edit

60pts

BS FA SA RA HP Unit Type Composition
Damocles Command Rhino 60 pts 7 5 7 13 12 10 3 4 3 Vehicle (Walker, Character) 1 Unique

  • I´m not opposed to adding the Damocles, why don´t you add in the rest of the rules for it and I´ll look it over. Also I don´t believe the Damocles is supposed to be a Walker nor Unique :v)
