Talk:Approved Television

I added Stranger Things to this list and it got deleted. I think it should be here it’s very DnD-esque. Why take it down?

liVetoair: So, I love this website, but I don't frequent /tg/ often. Any updated lists of /tg/ approved Television to work from? I don't feel comfortable adding shows otherwise.

/tg/ isn't exactly a tightly organized entity with strict rules. As long as you're sticking to spec fic shows, you should be fine. Other editors can always make corrections if need be. --Conqueror (talk) 21:31, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

The Mandalorian edit

So, what about that? Apparently, /tg/ appreciate it, and I have proof. Could I add it?

I'd say it belongs, regardless; adventure/western/sci-fi with a good hook and logical escalation is always welcome. Saarlacfunkel (talk) 15:22, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
The Mandalorian's already mentioned on the Star Wars page, but paradoxically, Star Wars wasn't mentioned on this page, so I added it. --Conqueror (talk) 17:45, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

General rule of thumb is to wait for at least a year before adding something recent, no matter how good it is and how well-received it seems. @Conqueror - you've added general entry, not specific title. It's already listed with specific titles under Movies, Video Games and Cartoons. What's the point of "hey, this is a franchise" entry?

Lexx edit

I know that on the Approved Cartoons page, where I frequent/sometimes add new little gems I find, we keep stuff that's debatable in quality or else just dumb in the Unapproved but minable section. Hazbin Hotel (Hate that one by the way) is similarly filed, so perhaps Lexx could fit in Unapproved but mineable?--Lord Of The Lemmings (talk) 04:35, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

Can we instead stop having "unapproved" and "shunned" lists? They are for the most part useless and/or attract bitching about shows people don't like, edit wars and trying to argue why shoehorn something that doesn't belong in the first place? I mean seriously, what's the point of having that category? It ends up looking like the one in literature section, where it consists amlost entirely from old, stale memes. That category adds nothing, considering it should be APPROVED stuff.

Interesting idea. I myself won't address it, but Triacom is pretty helpful about that sort of thing. Go ahead and hit him up on his user page, I do it all the time. If he says sure, then by we'll probably start trimming the articles. --Lord Of The Lemmings (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2020 (UTC)

Torchwood edit

Personally, I don't even think it's good, but should we perhaps mention it under the Dr. Who entry or the unapproved section, if only for the occasional awesomeness that Captain Jack Harkness brings? Also, for being the least terrible of the spin-off series from the RTD era of Doctor Who? LiVetoair (talk) 07:33, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
