Kalamandra
Kalamandras are large and strange chameleonic creatures, that Kroot Lone-spears ride upon when the species go to war.
Overview[edit]
These budget Lizardmen Dinosaurs are the perfect mounts for these expert hunters, due to the Kalamandras' ability to alter their skin color and move through tough terrain unhindered. Their speed and strength also let them guide packs of Kroot Hounds into battles and aid the Lone-spears in capturing far-flung objectives.
They are also no slouches in combat as well, with their jaws proving quite the bite against regular infantrymen and their claws sharp enough to pierce through regular armour. Their armoured hides also gives them some modest protection, although nothing short of the ordinary.
It is unknown where exactly, the Kalamandras are from, although some in /tg/ speculate that they are a native from Pech, which if true, makes it one of the few animals that has not been absorbed by the wider Kroot collective.
Crunch[edit]
On 10th Edition, the Kalamandras share the same stats as the Lone-spear, which is a stocky T5, W6 dino-croc with a 5+ Sv and could move 12" per turn, not the fastest of mounts, but it can attack on their own. Their bites are pretty painful at S5 AP-1 with Extra Attacks. Still, don't expect this critter to be a CQC monster. The Kalamandra is just there to make their rider extra survivable.
