Contemptor-Incaendius Dreadnought
The Contemptor-Incaendius Dreadnought is a Dreadnought that is known for only two things. The first is that it is a Dreadnought exclusive to the Blood Angels. The second is that this thing has A MOTHERFUCKING JETPACK! Oh yes, this thing is what happens when you want to shove an Assault Marine onto the sarcophagus of a Dreadnought. You know how scary a regular Furioso Dreadnought is? Now imagine one DYNAMIC ENTRYING on your face. Yes, we also know that the Contemptor-Incaendius was created by GeeDubs to make the concept of a flying Dreadnought less retarded in execution. Although looking at how a Contemptor Dreadnought weighs in excess of 14.5 tons, those must be one hell of a rocket booster.
Overview[edit]
The Contemptor-Incaendius was created during the Great Crusade when the Imperium could actually afford the military-industrial complex to produce these in numbers. What set this class of Contemptor Dreadnought apart from its peers was its aforementioned use of an external Incaendius Booster Pack secured to its back that allowed it to be utilised as an elite heavy assault unit in heavily contested drop zones.
This enabled the Blood Angels to employ them from low orbit or make a one-off leap right into the heart of their enemy's ranks.
Because of having what is essentially rocket thrusters to launch oneself into orbit, the function of the Contemptor-Incaendius complements very well with the Bishy Vampires' role of going close and letting loose. Having 14.5 tons worth of ceramite and plasteel crashing on your position is gonna do a number on your platoon. It's like a reusable weaponised Drop Pod for all intents and purposes. Just one could wonder what kind of Emprah-forsaken shock absorbers was needed to be installed on the legs to prevent the entire Dreadnought from breaking apart on-impact. Those poor, poor servos...
It is unknown if any of these SPEHSS MEHREEN Battlesuits still remained in the 41st/42nd Millennium.
Weaponry[edit]
As a close-range assault Dreadnought, the Contemptor-Incaendius is armed pretty similarly with its Furioso counterparts, as such vehicles were armed with weapons designed for battle at close ranges; with Flamers and the so-called Talons of Perdition being preferred, though some had been known to employ the prototype Iliastus Pattern Assault Cannon.
